1. What these technologies are
Cookies are small text records stored by a browser. Similar technologies include local storage and software development kit identifiers. Some are required to deliver a service you request; optional technologies require your choice where applicable law requires it.
2. Cookies currently used
- mateality_cookie_consent — necessary — stores the policy version, timestamp, and your optional-category choices — up to 180 days.
- better-auth session cookies, including secure-prefixed variants — necessary — authenticate your account, maintain your session, and support organization access — session-based or up to the configured account session lifetime.
- Authentication flow cookies — necessary — protect sign-in, verification, passkey, two-factor, invitation, and OAuth flows — normally expire within minutes or at the end of the flow.
- Theme or interface storage — preferences — remembers an appearance choice you actively make — until you remove it or reset site data.
3. Optional categories
Optional categories are off until you choose them. The Releases marketing site does not currently deploy advertising trackers. Enabling a category records permission; it does not mean every technology in that category is active. Any optional provider will be identified in this policy and the consent controls.
- Preferences remember non-essential interface choices.
- Analytics measure aggregate website or product interaction and reliability.
- Marketing measures campaigns or personalizes communications.
4. Managing your choice
Use “Cookie preferences” in the site footer to accept, reject, or change optional categories. Rejecting optional cookies does not block access to the service. Withdrawing consent stops future optional use and the consent manager removes configured first-party cookies it can access. Your browser may require you to clear third-party or differently scoped storage separately.
Blocking necessary cookies in browser settings may prevent sign-in, security, billing, and other requested functions. Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signals are not treated as consent to optional cookies; optional categories remain off unless you make an affirmative choice.
5. Updates and contact
We update this policy when technologies or providers change. Material changes to optional use may cause the banner to ask for a fresh choice. Contact privacy@mateality.com with questions.
