Route update traffic through your hostname.
Organization admins can connect one hostname to an app, add the provided CNAME, and let the platform provision and renew TLS.

Availability
Custom domains require:
- an organization admin
- an environment with domain provisioning configured
- a plan that includes
custom_domain - available custom-domain quota
The catalog includes 1 domain on Indie, 3 on Team, and unlimited domains on Business and Enterprise. Effective entitlements shown in the dashboard are the source of truth.
Connect a hostname
Open Domains
Choose the app, then Domains.
Enter a subdomain
Use a hostname such as
updates.example.com; the product copy specifically keeps the root website in place.Add the CNAME
Copy the exact hostname and target shown by the dashboard into the DNS provider.
Keep it DNS-only during setup
If the provider offers proxying, leave the record unproxied until verification completes.
Check status
Use Check status until the dashboard reports Live.
DNS propagation may take several minutes. The dashboard tracks hostname reservation, DNS connection, and TLS certificate state. TLS issuance and renewal are automatic after verification.
Remove a domain
An admin can remove the mapping. The default
{public-slug}.mateality.app endpoint remains available before, during, and
after custom-domain setup.
Common problems
- Setup unavailable: check role, plan feature, quota, and whether domain provisioning is configured.
- Waiting for DNS: confirm the record type, full hostname, target, and that proxying is off.
- Certificate pending: wait for DNS to resolve publicly, then check status again.
